Ah, the ‘pre-order’ button. When I see a book I want to read but it’s not out for another month or two, the good old ‘pre-order’ button becomes my best friend. Not only do I end up with the book as soon as it’s released, but I also don’t then go and forget about the details of the book and remember three months later when everyone is raving about how good it is… (it’s happened)
So I have been on a bit of a ‘pre-order’ splurge lately. If you have a problem with pre-ordering books then LOOK AWAY NOW.
Poppy Does Paris by Nicola Doherty
Release Date: 17th July
Paris. City of love, city of romance. The last place you want to go to on a work trip when you’re in the middle of an epic dry spell. But that’s where Poppy is headed, along with her colleague Charlie, who’s shallow and annoying but very, very good-looking. During a white-wine-fuelled session with her friend Alice, Poppy concocts the perfect plan: work by day, and have some no-strings fun with Charlie by night. Of course, it might prove a little more complicated than that, but it’s nothing Poppy can’t handle – or is it?
Girls on Tour is an irresistible series of interlinked stories about five friends, ordinary girls who have extraordinary fun in faraway places. Expect the unexpected, the utterly hilarious and unforgettable, on this rollercoaster ride of love, laughs, surprises and sparks. You have a VIP pass to join each girl’s adventure, so pack your bags and buckle your seatbelts, because just about anything is possible…
I love Nicola Doherty’s books and I love books that come in a series. Win, win? The Girls On Tour series sounds right up my street and I love the idea that each book is going to be based around a different character in a different setting. This series sounds like it’s going to be similar to Lindsey Kelk’s ‘I Heart…’ series, in which case – IS IT THE 17TH JULY YET??
What Might Have Been by Matt Dunn
Publisher:Lake Union Publishing
Release Date: 12th August 2014
A year ago, Evan and Sarah shared one incredible night. Then Evan’s music—the thing that brought them together—suddenly tore them apart.
Since then, Evan’s not been able to forget about her. And try as she might, Sarah can’t seem to get over him either.
With time running out, Evan’s got one last chance to convince her that the two of them were meant to be. But is one night enough for Sarah to make a decision about the rest of her life—even if it was the best night of her life? And if she doesn’t believe in love at first sight, how can Evan persuade her that what they had will last?
From the bestselling author of A Day at the Office, What Might Have Been is Matt Dunn’s new romantic comedy about two people in love. Though one of them needs a little convincing…
Matt Dunn zoomed his way up my list of favourite authors with The Accidental Proposal and then he zoomed even higher with A Day At The Office – I enjoyed that book so much, therefore I’m very excited about What Might Have Been. I really enjoy reading books in this genre written by men, they seem to be so few and far between, but a few of those that are out there are something special (Looking at you Jon Rance and Mike Gayle!) definitely looking forward to this one.

So when Laurie begs Elle to come with her on a singles holiday to a beautiful vineyard in Tuscany, Elle is reluctant. You Had Me at Merlot Holidays promises crisp sunshine, fun and a chance to stir up some sizzling romance. Best Title Award goes to…!
I love, love, LOVE the sound of this series (another series format, you’ve gotta’ love a good series…) It sounds funny, romantic, and the perfect summer read. I’m also really pleased to see that the whole series is released in consecutive weeks (phew) so we won’t have to wait too long in between parts 1,2,3 and 4.
