Festive Feature: Jaimie Admans

Welcome to a very special Festive Feature on my blog, where every day up until Christmas some of my favourite authors will be sharing what they love most about the festive season, including their favourite films, food, music, presents, memories, books…Plus much more!

I have a lovely Sunday treat for you today…The fabulous Jaimie Admans has dropped by to tell us all about what she enjoys most about this time of year…

Oh, I love Christmas! I love everything about this time of year from the end of summer when the weather starts to cool down and it’s time to get the winter blankets out, start wearing winter boots and festive socks, and drinking hot chocolate in the evenings!

I love the music, the films, the sparkly lights, the food, the (hopefully!) snow, the scented candles, the Christmas adverts on TV, shopping for presents, and writing Christmas stories!

For me, Christmas really begins with the unveiling of the John Lewis Christmas ad, the first sighting of the Coca-Cola ad, and the smell of the Quality Street tub when you take the lid off for the first time!

With all that list of favourites, I have to share some with you.

My Favourite Time Of Year by The Florin Street Band

This is my top Christmas song, and I wish more people knew about it! It’s so traditional, warm and catchy. I love the old-fashioned video and singing along too.

It’s so hard to pick favourites when it comes to films! My guilty pleasure is made-for-TV Christmas movies, you know the kind that are on Channel 5 in the afternoon or Movies24 (in the UK, that is!) They’re usually very predictable, sappy, and guaranteed to make you cry. I love them! Even though I know they’re bad, and I know I shouldn’t enjoy them, I do! I love them all. You can put Movies24 on at any time of the day or night and find a lovely Christmas film guaranteed to leave you feeling warm and fuzzy and festive!

So-bad-they’re-good films aside, there are two films that absolutely top my favourites list that are just plain good and I have to watch them at least once a year:

“I love to smile, smiling’s my favourite.”

“Clark, that’s the gift that keeps on giving.”

National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation!

Thank you for letting me share my favourite Christmassy things with you! I can’t get enough of this time of year! I’m off to make some gingerbread men and stick a candy cane in a mug of hot chocolate!

A HUGE candy cane flavoured thank you to Jaimie for being a part of my Festive Feature.

Not Pretty Enough (Not Pretty Enough, #1)Jaimie is a 27-year-old English-sounding Welsh girl with an awkward-to-spell name. She lives in South Wales and enjoys writing, gardening, drinking tea and watching horror movies. She hates spiders and cheese & onion crisps.

She has been writing for years, but has never before plucked up the courage to tell people. She writes mostly chick-lit and young adult. Kismetology is her first novel and there are plenty more on the way!
