Professional, experienced contract burglar.
It’s not exactly something you can put on a business card.

Molly Miranda has made a successful living from “acquiring” valuables and delivering them to clients who pay buckets of cash for her unique services.

So what if she has to lie about her lavish lifestyle in Manhattan and her frequent trips out of the country? Molly has everything under control.

Things go astray when she knocks boots with her charming roommate right before taking off to Scotland with an untrustworthy wildcard on a job assignment that doesn’t go quite as planned.

It doesn’t help that this new partner-in-crime is super annoying. And attractive…

Molly Miranda thinks she has her career as a professional thief pretty much nailed. She has got the fake passport (under the name of Betty Bruce), the wigs and all the kit she could possibly require (including a thing that was meant for cracking walnuts but proves to be fantastic at breaking locks…)
However Miranda’s life looks set to turn a little crazier when she ends up giving into temptation and sleeping with her handsome roommate, Nate, who doesn’t know anything about Betty Bruce…until he finds her passport. Eeeek.
Whilst Molly’s battling with her affections for Nate she is also paired up with untrustworthy Rhys on a job in Scotland. Whilst Rhys might know every trick about hacking/breaking/deactivating security cameras in the book, there’s something about him that Molly isn’t quite sure about and before long her fears are affirmed (she’s not a professional thief for nothing y’know…)

I was really looking forward to reading Molly Miranda: Thief For Hire, it sounded like a rip-roaring good-time read and the kind of book that I would just LOVE. However it completely surpassed my expectations because it was even more brilliant that I imagined…
The fact that this is only Jillianne Hamilton’s debut novel is crazy. It was accomplished, fast-paced and really well written. I loved how Jillianne combined action, romance, humour and professional burglary. That’s perhaps a combination I never thought I’d read, but there you go!
First up let’s talk about Molly. Molly, Molly, Molly. I love this girl and want her in my life. She was just perfect. Funny, kick-ass, wise and extremely witty – if I was ever going to hire a professional thief then Molly would be my girl. Whilst she may live in a luxury apartment in New York and spend the majority of her days stealing artefacts from museums she is still completely normal. She talks a lot of sense and is completely fearless…In fact I think I have a new idol in Molly Miranda (pretty cool name too, am I right!?)
Then there’s the romance to the story. Ahh. You’ve got your classic love triangle; the lovely yet non-thieving, therefore normal Nate and the swoon-some (yet at times incredibly annoying) but very exciting Rhys. I personally wouldn’t like to choose, so I’ll leave that to Molly… I will say that Jillianne creates the chemistry between both couples brilliantly and the banter between Molly & Rhys is hilarious. Despite all of the crazy goings-on, the romances in the story are completely normal (aka both awkward and infuriating at times…)
There are some pretty fantastic supporting characters too. I’m talking Molly’s best friend Ruby who is perhaps a million miles away from Molly in personality but you can completely see why they’re BFFs. Then there’s Audrey. I really disliked her at the start, but when she was visiting Molly’s Dad in Florida later on in the story I changed my opinion of her and she made me chortle with laughter once or twice…

If you’ve ever read the Dimple of Doom series by Lucy Woodhull then you need to read this book NOW! I loved Lucy’s series and Molly Miranda: Thief For Hire reminded me of some of Samantha Lytton’s adventures and was every bit as enjoyable.

Jillianne has done a fabulous job creating a loveable and down-to-earth heroine in Molly Miranda and followed through with a really strong plotline packed full of twists and turns. This story was SO exciting; there was a new drama on almost every page, making it impossible to put down.

If you’re looking for a funny, exciting read to make you forget about real life for a couple of hours then this is your book. I am crossing everything that we’ll be hearing more from Molly in the very near future!

A huge thank you to Jillianne Hamilton for sending me a copy of Molly Miranda: Thief For Hire to read & review.
