Bournemouth girl Sofia Gold is reluctantly visiting old childhood friends in London for Easter weekend. Keenly aware she’s not part of their glamorous world, she’s more comfortable riding a surfboard than wearing designer dresses and towering heels… although she’s always had a soft spot for cocktails.

It’s never really bothered Sofia that she’s ‘one of the boys,’ and that her romantic experiences have been amazingly unspectacular, so when she meets gorgeous Nathan, why does she find herself faking an accent and pretending to be a London socialite? It can’t be anything to do with impressing him, can it? After all, she’s only in the capital for a few days…

But one impulsive kiss later, they both find themselves wishing for things they didn’t know they wanted.

In this fabulous instalment of the #LoveLondon series by Nikki Moore we meet tom-boy Sofia. Sofia is into surfing and skating, so as you can imagine staying in Chelsea with two of her (extremely posh) childhood friends for the weekend is not her idea of having fun…
However, keen to fit in Sofia dons her high heels and a rather revealing outfit and joins her friends on an outing to a cocktail bar.
When she meets gorgeous barman Nathan Black she does her best to give off the impression that she belongs in this world and is a London socialite herself. Despite her best efforts and attempts at a posh accent, Nathan doesn’t seem to be interested. Why, you ask? Well, he’s actually fed up of rich Princesses flirting with him every night. He wants someone different, someone who stands out from the crowd…someone a bit like the real Sofia…

I loved every single minute of this fun, flirty romance and really wished it was actually longer than its 40 pages because I could easily have devoured a full length novel about Sofia and Nathan.
The fact that they don’t get off to the best of starts makes the story even more intriguing because YOU know that Nathan wants a girl who isn’t a typical ‘Chelsea Princess’ but Sofia doesn’t know this (and therefore continues to impersonate a Chelsea Princess…) The two of them have a sizzling chemistry and you can’t help but me silently egging them on to get together. I fell in love with their blossoming romance, despite this only being a novella – I was swooning when Sofia stuck up for Nathan in front of the very snooty Christie.
I loved Sofia, mainly because she doesn’t conform to the ‘norm’ despite her best efforts. We’ve all been there – trying to change ourselves or dress in a certain way purely to impress others. However Sofia proves that maybe, just maybe, things can pay off if you are yourself.
If you’ve read the previous three books in Nikki Moore’s #Love London series then this will be a must-read. I’d go so far as to say it’s my favourite so far (although there’s still a few to come, so I couldn’t possibly make that judgement yet…)
It’s light, lovely and extremely fun. I was surprised at just how emotionally involved you can get with a novella, hence my wishing that this was actually a full length novel. Not only because I adore Nikki Moore’s writing but I really bonded with Sofia and Nathan.
Cocktails in Chelsea is the perfect read for your boring commute to work; the minutes will fly by and it’ll leave you with a sense of happiness and a big smile on your face ready to face the day.
