What’s New: June 2015

It’s a good job it’s coming up to holiday season because there’s another stack of books coming our way this June which are just BEGGING to be read in the back garden on a sunny day. Bliss. I’m picturing a sun lounger and a glass of my favourite tipple, Strawberry Ribena. Whilst I go and dig out my sunglasses, take a look at what all book lovers should be reading this June…

One of my favourite YA authors, Judy Blume, makes a very welcome return at the start of the month with In The Unlikely Event (2nd June, Picador), quickly followed by another of my all-time-favourite authors, Adele Parks, who brings us If You Go Away (4th June, Headline Review). The fantastic Freya North also releases her latest novel, The Turning Point on the 4th (Harper), as does Lucy Diamond with Summer at Shell Cottage (Pan). Dana Bate is a new author to me but I am MEGA excited about reading her novel, Too Many Cooks, which is also released on the 4th (Corsair). One of my ‘all-time-favourite-authors-in-the-whole-world-ever’ (otherwise known as Sophie Kinsella) also makes a welcome return to our bookshelves, only rather than another Shopaholic instalment, Sophie is trying her hand at writing YA with her new novel, Finding Audrey (9th June, Delacorte Books for Young Readers). Then a Harper Impulse favourite brings us her second novel, as Erin Lawless releases the fantastic-sounding Somewhere Only We Know on the 11th. Another author who makes a welcome return this month is the wonderful Jenny Hale as she releases her latest novel with Bookouture, Summer By The Sea on the 12th. A few days later we also have the fantatstic Giovanna Fletcher bringing us Dream a Little Dream (18th, Penguin) and I can finally get my mitts on Sunshine and Spaniels by Cressida McLaughlin (Harper). One of my most anticipated books of recent months is also due out on the 18th and that is Return to Bluebell Hill by the super lovely Rebecca Pugh (Carina). Another book due out on this date that I’m extremely looking forward to reading is The Readers of Broken Wheel Recommend by Katarina Bivald (Chatto and Windus)…How great does this book sound. SERIOUSLY!? Then rounding off this fantastically bookish month is Fresh Hell by Rachel Johnson (18th June, Fig Tree)and the glorious sounding Killing Monica by another favourite author of mine Candace Bushnell (23rd, Grand Central Publishing.)

Killing Monica Finding Audrey Return to Bluebell Hill

…And those are just a few of the ones I am most looking forward to reading. Let me know which books you’re excited about this month.
