Bookaholic Confessions: One Year in Blogging

I can’t believe that a whole year ago today I first launched my little pink book blog into the blogosphere. Starting my own book blog was something that I had wanted to do for a while, but there was one thing stopping me… I was scared. (I know, what a massive wimp, right!?) The thought of putting myself and my thoughts out there on the internet scared me. I was also kind of scared that my blog would be rubbish, no one would read it, no one would want me to read their books and it would just fizzle out. However, when I voiced my concerns (aka my wimpishness) on Twitter I was amazed at how supportive and encouraging the book blogging community were. I would never have started a blog had it not been for everyone’s encouragement and help, so I just wanted to take this opportunity to say a big, bookish thank you to everyone who has supported/read/followed/commented/re-tweeted/re-posted/visited my blog. I can honestly say that starting Bookaholic Confessions has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. I have loved every single minute of book blogging and I can’t imagine life without my little pink corner of the internet where I ramble on about books.

Blogging has lived up to all of my expectations and I have been given so many amazing opportunities in the last year. Not to mention the fantastic books that I have been given the chance to read, along with the wonderful friends I have made.

I’m planning on posting a series of posts about my first year in blogging, including my favourite things about being a book blogger and some of the things I have learnt. I’m also going to be hosting some celebratory giveaways so keep your eyes peeled.

You’ll be pleased to know I’m going to stop rambling now, but I just wanted to say a final thank you to YOU reading this now. To everyone who has emailed me, chatted on Twitter, asked me to review their books, had me on board blog tours or commented and shared my reviews. THANK YOU! I have said it before and I will say it again; bookish people are the best.

  1. Happy 1st Bloganniversary, well done. Yes starting blogging is quite daunting to begin with. You’re doing a wonderful job keep at it! I’ve past my 1st anniversary not too long ago too, so we’re both at the same sort of stage, and you’re so right the blogging community is really supportive, and bookish people are so friendly and nice. 🙂
