Every Happily Ever After began with a Once Upon a Time…
Can you fall in love with someone before you’ve actually met them? Toby and Lauren think you can…
A gorgeously romantic short story, part of The Meet Cute series.
After reading (and loving!) the first book in Katey Lovell’s fabulous #MeetCute series, it was with much excitement that I dived in to the second installment in which we meet Lauren. After a gap year Lauren has traveled to Magaluf where she is going to be starting a new job. However, in the run-up to her new job and home, Lauren has been chatting to Toby online. Toby is the son of one of the customers at the corner shop where her Dad works. He has gone out to Magaluf and is working as a DJ – Toby’s mum suggests that Lauren contact Toby so that she at least knows someone when she ventures out there on her own. Reluctantly Lauren contacts Toby via email and the rest is history…The pair feel an immediate connection but are understandably nervous about meeting one another in real life. Will the spark still be there when they meet face to face?
The Meet Cute series is shaping up to be rather perfect. I am loving these bite-sized portions of romance and I can see them appealing to a whole range of readers – whether you’re reading this on the commute, in your lunch break, or just want to pass five minutes away in the doctors waiting room – this series is what you’re looking for.
Despite being short in length they are full of detail, vibrant characters and gorgeous settings. I found it so easy to escape within this delightful novella and quickly became embroiled in the characters. I couldn’t wait to see how things would play out when they did finally meet. Not forgetting the beautiful setting which completely whisked me off to sunnier climes (which is just what you need in December, am I right!?)
Light, sweet and utterly romantic. I can’t wait to discover more in the series…
A huge thank you to Katey Lovell for sending me a copy of The Boy At The Beach to read and review. ♥
Katey Lovell is fanatical about words. An avid reader, writer and poet, she once auditioned for Countdown and still tapes the show every night. Getting the conundrum before the contestants is her ultimate thrill.
She loves love and strives to write feel-good romance that’ll make you laugh and cry in equal measure.
Originally from South Wales, Katey now lives in Yorkshire with her husband and their seven year old son.
I love this series! really enjoyed this, though The Boy in the Bookshop just pipped it to the post, maybe the book connection? I don’t know, either way am looking forward to the others too! Great review as per usual!:)
