Every Happily Ever After began with a Once Upon a Time…

It’s not the deliciously sweet cakes that draw Lily to the bakery every day. It’s the person selling them…

A gorgeously romantic short story, part of The Meet Cute series.

The Boy at the Bakery is the third story in Katey Lovell’s fabulous #MeetCute series. I loved the previous two so naturally I had very high expectations for this installment. Katey’s first novella, The Boy in the Bookshop was a dream read for me because it centered around one of my favourite thing – books. The Boy in the Bakery gets extra brownie points from me too because it’s about my second favourite thing – cake.
In this story Lily finds herself taking a trip to her local bakery at every opportunity. However, it’s not the cream slices that Lily is after, but the rather handsome guy working behind the counter, Cole…*Swoon*

Once again this is a delightful little gem from the Meet Cute series. I loved Lily and her personality really shone through. Her awkwardness around Cole was completely endearing (but then again who wouldn’t be awkward around Cole? He sounded dreamy…

Brilliantly formed and sweeter than a Krispy Kreme, Katey Lovell keeps on producing wonderful story after wonderful story. One of the things I like most about this series is how you become invested in the characters in such a short amount of time. I would love to read more about them in the future, but the way in which Katey has ended each story allows you to put your imagination to work and decide for yourself how things will progress.

The other thing I can’t help but mention is that cover. Isn’t it just one of the cutest covers you’ve ever seen? The whole set of Meet Cute covers have been absolutely gorgeous and complement each story so well.

One-click this beauty straight away. Also, it’s best enjoyed with a iced bun & a big old mug of tea…

With a big, sugary thank you to Katey Lovell.
